Programs at the Etiquette School of California

 

 

For parents who understand the importance of their children's manners, give them the gift that will last a lifetime.  Give them confidence by enhancing their personal skills.  The program's focus is to give your child a social edge and build self-esteem, self-confidence and respect for others.

 

Classes for Children 1st through 5th grades

 

The focus is on socialization skills and dining skills for boys and girls.  The class size is limited to ten children.  Food is prepared and served five out of six lessons.  Dining is a natural time for conversation, therefore, affording the opportunity to discuss and develop social skills.  Children learn:

 
  • Proper Introductions
  • Correct Handshake While Looking Someone in the Eye
  • Following House Rules & Table Rules
  • Remembering Names
  • Conversation Skills - Acceptable & Unacceptable Subjects
  • Writing Thank You Notes
  • Thinking of Others instead of Self
  • Making new Friends
  • Sharing
  • Respect for Someone's Property and Home
  • Telephone Skills
 

Classes for 6th - 8th Grade Girls

 

The program for junior high girls involves a comprehensive study of etiquette, dining, personal fitness and fashion.  The goal of this course is to help launch confident young women into a successful pattern for life.  Mother - Daughter classes occur several times throughout the course.  Syllabus includes:

 
  • Self Presentation Skills
  • Posture/ Modeling/ Fashion Tips
  • Telephone Etiquette
  • Hair/ Skin cleansing
  • Dining
  • Thank You Notes
  • Speaking Correctly
  • Interviewing Skills
  • Clothing Classes
 

Classes for 6th - 8th Grade Boys

 

The program for junior high boys is designed to increase their confidence levels.  Boys and Girls classes are separated due to their various stages of maturity.  Mixed classes are held twice.  The first class and the five course dinner.  The ten session course includes:

 
  • Self Presentation Skills
  • Putting Clothes Together
  • Gentleman's Conversation Tips
  • Introductions and Presenting a One-Minute Speech
  • Sports Etiquette
  • Dining
 

Classes for 9th - 12th Grade Girls & Boys

 

A ten session course designed to bring high school students through various aspects of communication skills.  Six guys and six girls form a class (equal number) The syllabus includes:

 
  • Meeting People
  • Clothing
  • Interviewing
  • Dining
  • Dating Skills
  • Eight Course Dinner
  • Attending a Live Theater Production
